22 Flat Towers Prepared for IKN Nusantara Construction Workers

These flats are built on an area of 19.88 hectares which will be completed in three months using modular fabrication technology. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Housing will prepare as many as 22 towers of flats (rusun) for construction workers in the National Capital Region (IKN) Nusantara, East Kalimantan. This apartment was built by the Ministry of PUPR with an operational cooperation (KSO) pattern with Wika Gedung and Adhi Karya. Later each tower built will have a height of four floors built with modular technology to accommodate around 17 thousand construction workers. According to the Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, Iwan Suprijanto, this flat is part of the PUPR Ministry's task to build basic infrastructure in IKN Nusantara. "The 22 flat towers for IKN Nusantara workers will be built with modular residential fabrication technology so that the process can be faster with more precise sizes. For the initial stage of the construction of the Nusantara IKN, we were assigned to build 36 units of flat towers for construction workers and official housing for the ministers," he said. By using this modular residential technology, the target for the construction of the IKN Nusantara construction workers' flats will be able to be built with a target time of about three months. In addition, various facilities will also be built and provided, such as furniture, health facilities, places of worship, canteens, shops, to building management. In the process of building flats for workers as well as all facilities and infrastructure, IKN Nusantara will prioritize the use of domestic products. The construction of this flat itself is targeted to be very fast because the construction process of the Nusantara IKN will also begin. "The budget for the construction of the construction workers' flats is around IDR 600 billion and we want the construction workers at IKN Nusantara to be able to work safely according to standards and live in decent and healthy housing so that the results of the construction of IKN Nusantara are also of high quality," he added. Director of Flats at the Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of PUPR Aswin Grandiarto Sukahar added, as many as 22 towers of these flats were built on an area of 19.88 hectares which later this facility will be intended for skilled workers and skilled workers. "For the first stage, there are two construction sites for workers' flats, namely the first site for 288 experts, type A flats for 6,912 experts, and 3,136 people for type B. In addition, the second site is for type B skilled workers for 6,272 people. So this flat can accommodate as many as thousands of workers complete with supporting facilities,” he explained.
