This tariff adjustment is applied to the Power Household customer group from 3,500 VA and above (R2 and R3) and the Government class (P1, P2, and P3). All of them are non-subsidized customers.
"Household customers under 3,500 VA, Business, and Industry have fixed rates," said Director General of Electricity ESDM Rida Mulyana at a press conference on Monday, June 13, 2022.
He said the number of customers affected by the tariff adjustment was around 2.5 million or 3 percent of the total customers of PT PLN (Persero).
Based on the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 28 of 2016 in conjunction with Number 03 of 2020, the Tariff Adjustment is determined every three months by referring to changes in four macro assumptions, namely the exchange rate, the average price of Indonesian crude oil (ICP), inflation, and the Coal Benchmark Price (HPB). .
He said the cost of electricity supply (BPP) of 33 percent was dominated by fuel costs, the second largest after the cost of purchasing electricity from the private sector of around 36 percent, so that changes in the four indicators of macroeconomic assumptions greatly affected the cost of supplying electricity (BPP). electricity.
"In the end, this also has an impact on the calculation of the Tariff Adjustment," he said.
Household customers R2 with a power of 3,500 VA to 5,500 VA and R3 with a power of 6,600 VA and above have the tariff adjusted from Rp 1,444.70 per kWh to Rp 1,699.53 per kWh, with an average increase in the account of Rp 111,000 per month for R2 customers and IDR 346,000 per month for R3 customers.
Government customers P1 with a power of 6,600 VA to 200 kVA and P3 the tariff is adjusted from IDR 1,444.70 per kWh to IDR 1,699.53 per kWh, with an average increase in accounts of IDR 978,000 per month for P1 customers and IDR 271,000 per month for customers P3.
Government P2 customers with power above 200 kVA have the tariff adjusted from Rp. 1,114.74 per kWh to Rp. 1,522.88 per kWh, with an average increase in accounts of Rp. 38.5 million per month.
The tariff adjustment, he said, will take effect on July 1, 2022.
