Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos Are Not As Rich Now
KOMPAS.com - Several billionaires from technology giant companies have had their net worth evaporate more than 60 billion US dollars (equivalent to Rp. 889 trillion) so far this year. For example, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index data as of Friday (17/6/2022), cumulatively, the net worth of the three has decreased by almost 200 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 2,967.3 trillion. There are several factors that contributed to the evaporation of the wealth of three billionaires in this technology industry. Starting from the economic slowdown in the United States due to the Fed's benchmark interest rate being raised, fears of a potential US recession, as well as the three largest stock indexes on the US stock exchange, Wall Street, which fell.

Jeff Bezos

Furthermore, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos also had to endure the loss of 65.8 billion US dollars (approximately Rp. 974.3 trillion) of his total net worth. Now, Bezos is listed as the second richest person in the world, with a net worth of 127 billion US dollars (approximately Rp. 1.882 trillion).

Mark Zuckerberg

The net worth of Meta CEO (formerly Facebook Inc.) Mark Zuckerberg also evaporated by 65.6 billion US dollars, or approximately Rp. 972.7 trillion. Elon Musk

When detailed, Elon Musk is the person who has lost the most wealth, reaching 67.18 billion US dollars (Rp 1,005.9 trillion). During his tenure at Tesla, Elon Musk is known to have only been paid in the form of option awards or stock options, not salaries in cash. So, Musk's fortune is heavily dependent on Tesla's stock.
