JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The phenomenon of "Citayam Fashion Week" has recently attracted more attention and is being discussed on social media. The term "Citayam Fashion Week" became increasingly popular after a number of teenagers from around Jakarta wore unique clothes and hung out around Dukuh Atas, Central Jakarta, last weekend. However, urban planning observer from Trisakti University, Nirwono Yoga, believes that this phenomenon will not last long. This has made a number of celebrities compete to take advantage of the momentum.

"(They) tend to take advantage of that momentary fame for government purposes, campaigns, or other activities. This kind of model will also not last long," said Nirwono to Kompas.com, Tuesday (19/7/2022). A number of famous names did appear in the midst of the frenzied popularity of the Dukuh Atas area, ranging from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to singer Yuni Shara.

Anies Baswedan and Guests from Europe "Catwalk" Together

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan walks at the location of a road crossing that was previously used as a place for SCBD teenagers aka Sudirman, Citayam, Bojonggede, Depok. According to Anies, a number of European officials were surprised to see how young people used the road crossing to become a catwalk. "That's young people. The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (LH) has appointed social media activist Jasmine Latika or Jeje "Slebew" to create hygiene education content in Dukuh Atas, Jakarta. This area has recently become viral among young people as a gathering place under the name "SCBD" aka Sudirman, Citayam, Bojonggede, Depok.

"We value them as effective because they have an influence, especially children their age and are now busy figures on social media," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency, Yogi Ikhwan, as quoted by Antara, Friday (15/7/2022). In addition to cooperating with the 16-year-old girl, DLH DKI also invited Jeje's male friend, namely Bonge from Bojonggede to jointly create hygiene and order educational content in the "SCBD" area.
Sandiaga Scholarship Offer for SCBD Youth

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno assessed that the Citayam youth trend could help domestic tourism, through their content that was created and uploaded to social media. Therefore, Sandiaga plans to provide tourism school scholarships to those who are considered to have the potential to support Indonesian tourism. "In my opinion, if they are talented as promotional agents from tourist destinations, we can embrace them, and we provide training, and maybe later we will give scholarships to the Tourism Polytechnic," said Sandiaga, Friday (8/7/2022).

Furthermore, Sandiaga assessed that the contents created by Citayam ABGs were packaged in an interesting and contemporary way. "We happen to have the Bandung NHI Tourism Polytechnic, not far from Citayam to develop their talents," said Sandiaga.

Steal The Twins' Attention

"Citayam Fashion Week" which originally came from a number of teenagers from Citayam who often hung out with quirky clothes, has now also attracted the attention of professional models to join the style fight there. For example, the twin models who graduated from Asia's Next Top Model (AsNTM) cycle 5, Valerie and Veronica.

Veronika also admitted that she was amazed by the number of teenagers hanging out and competing for fashion in the Upper Hamlet area. He even called Citayam Fashion Week the most crowded catwalk event he had ever done. "I think this is the busiest fashion show in my history, I'm modeling. At first, I was shy, it was fun," said Veronika in a status on her Instagram account @veronika.twns. In fact, Veronika and Valerie even challenged the teenagers to walk on the zebra cross "catwalk" with them.

Presenter and fashion designer Ivan Gunawan displayed his photo with one of Citayam Fashion Week's icons, Roy. Ivan seemed to be embracing Roy's shoulder who was wearing sunglasses. They then posed like they were walking on the zebra cross in the Dukuh Atas area which has been known as the SCBD nickname.

"This is our style when we are participating in fashion week. How about you guys?" wrote Ivan Gunawan on the account @ivan_gunawan, quoted Tuesday (19/7/2022).

Yuni Shara's New Song Promo

Taking advantage of the phenomenon that is currently viral, singer Yuni Shara invites teenagers who hang out near Sudirman station to listen to her latest song, Tanda Tanda. In the video she uploaded, Yuni Shara shared footage of some teenagers using a jemala device or headset.

"Aaah... Young people of 'Citayem Fashion Week' are really fun... Relax," wrote Yuni Shara quoted from Instagram @yunishara36, Tuesday (19/7/2022). After the song "Tanda-Tanda" was played, the teenagers were asked to give their opinion about the song.
